Gilgal Mining Supplies was established in 2007 and is located in Sandton.

Initially, Gilgal commenced trading as a supplier of various specialized products to the mining industry, in particular; tires.

The worldwide shortage in the supply of heavy-duty tyres during the years 2005 – 2008, particularly in South Africa, led to the company using its global network to source supply from reputable manufacturers worldwide.

However, as the business grew and the South African commercial landscape evolved, there was a shift in the tyre industry market dynamics. The core focus of the company changed to fuel and related products supply. An additional dynamic is the fact that the managing director of Gilgal is a provider of consulting services to a number of companies in the energy sector.

Through this already open door, Gilgal has found itself in a prime position to service this specialized market need.

This transition has necessitated strengthening of relationships with Primary Suppliers of fuel in various countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Libya and Russia.
